It has been a pleasure to cover the 2009 Lakewood Lancers and their great season. Thank you to all the players for their hard work on and off the field for giving the fans of Lakewood another superb filled year of outstanding football and winning the Moore League Championship!
IMMORTALITY AWAITS THE RED AND WHITE CLAD: As the 2009 football season for the Lakewood Lancers has concluded, it is now time to focus attention to the top players who have earned the highest honor for dedicated service to our team.
It is the 6th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony taking place this Saturday, December 12. As always, the voter input decides who's who in the upper echelon of glory and splendor. And with that, the nomination is never an easy task, as so many players are deserving.
Our mission is to be sure that each year new inductees are the finest athletes Lakewood High has ever produced. Promoting the sport of football and the qualities of leadership and sportsmanship that are instilled in student athletes is part of the fulfillment of our hall of fame as well.
The Lakewood Football Hall of Fame serves as a means for inspiring young players to excellence on and off the field as they are enshrined for their achievements each and every year. The select few that represent their class are the ideal athletes, which further strengthen the character building qualities of the program.
We honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the positive growth of our football program and the sport of football itself.

In honor of legendary coach Roy Woolbright, the stick award has been reinstated for the first time this season. It is a special recognition awarded to a defensive player for his outstanding performance during each game of the week.
