There was never a mystery to the fact that for his entire life John Ford was consumed by his passion, football. This special collection exhibits a celebration of America's Game through the eyes of a true legend of Lakewood Football. Coach Ford is recognized as one of the greatest geniuses of Moore League and CIF competition. Perhaps no one else posessed a higher degree in the pursuit of excellence, combined with mastery in designing plays, motivating his players and defeating his opponents.

This collection would not have been made possible without the generous contribution and warm heart of the late Fern Ford and her entire family. A special thanks to Dana Hogan '70 for personally delivering the photographs and game reels at the alumni picnic back in the Summer of 2006. It is with great pleasure that I introduce this classic collection featuring rare photos that have captured some of the most memorable moments in Lakewood football history that will forever be frozen in time.
